Dear Members,
Welcome to the 2023 – 2024 season of the International Women’s Group – Kuwait.
It is my special honor and privilege to be the President of this prestigious association as it marks the 35th anniversary of its establishment. Thank you for the confidence and trust you place in me.
IWG was founded in 1988 by a group of ambitious women inspired by the idea to bring together ladies of different nationalities in Kuwait with the purpose of promoting friendship,understanding and cooperation between them. This goal is achieved through sharing cultures and traditions in a variety of social activities and public events.
Despite the inevitable challenges of various times, IWG has continued to grow stronger over the years, and today, its members represent a variety of almost a hundred nationalities from all over the world, alongside with their distinguished Kuwaiti peers.
Beyond any doubt, the success, sustainability and vitality of this elite association is due to you, dear members. You are the pillar of IWG and with your enthusiasm, commitment, dedication and creativity IWG will continue to grow and prosper.
We are immensely grateful to the Honorary President of IWG Her Excellency Sheikha Hanouf Bader Al Mohammed Al Sabah for her munificent support and kind guidance. We also thank the institutions, civil society organizations and private entities in Kuwait for their friendship and contributions to the success of our association.
I am confident that IWG’s cooperation with the diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited to the State of Kuwait will remain an important source of cultural richness and diversity of IWG activities, enlightening and benefiting all concerned.
I would like to add special words of appreciation for my predecessor Ghada Ahmed Shawky, spouse of the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and you, distinguished members of the Board, for the excellent example you have set for us to follow in continuation of this noble mission.
I sincerely hope that during this 35th season, all of you, dear members, will continue to support IWG and that you will actively participate in its public events and social gatherings making it possible for our association to pursue its objective of promoting friendship, dialogue and cultural exchange between women from the world over.
