The International Women’s Group in Kuwait, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt, held a Ramadan Ghabga on Sunday, 10 April 2022 on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, under the title “Egyptian Nights”, in the presence of a number of distinguished guests.

The program was inaugurated by the group’s president, Mrs. Cristiana Balducci, spouse of the Italian ambassador to the State of Kuwait. She welcomed the attendees and congratulated the holy month of Ramadan and thanked Sheikha Hanouf Bader Al Muhamad Al Sabah, Honorary President of the International Women’s Group and spouse to H.E Minister of Foreign Affairs, for her constant support.

Mrs. Ghada Shawky, spouse of the Egyptian ambassador to Kuwait, who organized the celebration, stated that the ceremony included a welcome speech by H.E. Osama Shaltout, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Kuwait. The Ambassador expressed his happiness for participating in the celebration, congratulating the attendees on the Holy Month. He also highlighted the particularity of the fraternal relations that bring the leadership, government and people of Egypt and Kuwait together, which flourish under the sage leadership of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait and the faithful Crown Prince. He also touched upon the comprehensive and sustainable development that Egypt is currently witnessing in various fields through the implementation of the Egypt 2030 Agenda under the wise leadership of His Excellency Mr. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi President of the Republic. H.E. Shaltout concluded his speech by thanking the International Women’s Group – Kuwait and the attendees and welcoming them to visit Egypt, the cradle of civilizations.

In addition, Mrs. Ghada Shawky indicated that the ceremony also included a screening of a documentary film highlighting the most important touristic attractions in Egypt, followed by a folklore Egyptian Tanoura dance and a duet of female artists playing classical Arab music on “O’ud” and “Qanon” instruments. The ceremony then concluded by the “Qa’dah Mazzika” band playing a mixture of old and new classic hits, using oriental electrical musical instruments.

At the end of the ceremony, raffle prizes were distributed among the guests, including two round-trip tickets to Cairo provided by EgyptAir, the national carrier of the Arab Republic of Egypt, in addition to symbolic gifts presented by the Egyptian embassy to all attendees.
