The International Women’s Group held a Nepal Cultural Day Event on Sunday, 5 June 2022 at the Crowne Plaza- Kuwait. Organized in cooperation with the Embassy of Nepal and inaugurated jointly by H.E. Mr. Durga Prasad Bhandari, Ambassador of Nepal to the State of Kuwait, Mrs. Bindhya Bhandari, Spouse of the Ambassador and Mrs. Cristiana Balducci, IWG President, by lighting the lamp.

Mrs. Cristiana Balducci welcomed guests, thanking Sheikha Hanouf Bader Al Muhamad Al Sabah, Honorary President of the International Women’s Group and spouse to H.E the Minister of Foreign Affairs, for her continuous support and guidance

Mrs. Balducci’s opening was followed by welcome remarks by H.E. Mr. Durga Prasad Bhandari; the Ambassador expressed his happiness for participating and contributing in the event particularly at a time, as he said, when Nepal and Kuwait have been celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between them. He highlighted the richness of the natural and cultural heritage of Nepal and expressed that Nepal is a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural and multi-lingual country in which all the people have been living together in peace, tolerance and harmony. He said that “unity in diversity is the specialty of Nepal”. The Ambassador concluded his speech by thanking the IWG board, members and guests and welcoming them to visit Nepal.

The mesmerizing event continued to cover many aspects of the beauty, culture, cuisine, music and classical dance of Nepal. Guests were thrilled with multiple dance and music performances and a video presentation depicting Nepali lifestyle, customs and rituals, food, natural and cultural heritage sites, historical monuments, magnificent mountains, lakes, wildlife and adventure tourism activities in Nepal.

Raffle and door prizes including beautiful handicraft and special food products such as honey and tea from Nepal were distributed. Similarly, airline tickets to Nepal, were also won on the occasion.

The event concluded with a specially prepared buffet showcasing Nepali cuisine.
