International Women’s Group Visit Bayt Abdullah Children’s Hospice

30 January 2019: On the beautiful morning of January 30, the International Women’s Group visited Bayt Abdulla Children’s Hospice (BACCH) and learned more about its graceful cause.

This visit is one of many social activities that take place within IWG in aims of showing moral and cultural support to the community as well as aiding in broadening the knowledge of all members on Kuwait, its people and society. BACCH is a non-profit hospital that has been fully equipped with the latest technology to provide a caring, fun and joyful environment to children with chronic and terminal illnesses.

During the tour, objectives of this volunteer center were explained, BACCH, and the aims they have whether they were social, entertaining or health related. All these elements are taken into consideration when trying to provide a better lifestyle to both the children and their families with the aid of the Palliative care professionals. As a facility, BACCH harbors several clinics, a physiotherapy pool, educational rooms and a library, a gymnasium, a theatre and music hall; all of which are placed to fulfil the aim of providing the best ambiance for the family. Mrs Zeina Haddad continued the informative tour highlighting the psychological and therapeutic aspects even further.

At the end of that morning, Mrs Rasha Abdulatif Al-Hamad, CEO of BACCH, expressed her sincere gratitude and appreciation to the IWG members for the emotional support they gave the children.

In return, IWG members thanked all BACCH staff for the wonderful efforts they put in throughout the year and showed their gratitude with an emblem and a commemorative gift.
