International Women Group (IWG) visited Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center

On February 2019, the Members of IWG visited the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center (JACC), informally known as the Kuwait Opera House, is a prominent cultural center in Kuwait, located on the Gulf Road in the capital Kuwait City. It is the largest cultural centre and opera house in the Middle East. The cultural center is part of the new Kuwait National Cultural District. 

The group gathered @ the cultural center and they get around the premise to discover the beauty of the design which was inspired by Islamic architectural tradition. These are two dimensional patterns, which are transformed three dimensionally to create spaces below a complex geometric form. The buildings sit independently below the “jewel” which houses the functional requirements of the building.

Later the group had lunch at “Meem Café”, which located in front of dancing fountain; the group was received by head chef and he mentioned that the Café is an all-day oriental dinning with specialty in Arabic coffee traditional brewery. The weather was cloudy and it was really a cool day, the group enjoyed the dancing fountain show with a clever synced to the melodies of Kuwaiti songs.  The food was delicious and testy.

After lunch a question and answer competition was held among the members and the prizes were distributed to the winners. The group presented complementary plaques to the head chef for their hospitality.
